Privacy Policy

Effective August 18, 2026 · TASX, Windsor, Ontario, Canada

TASX is a marketplace that connects people who need everyday services and rides with independent local professionals. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

  • Account details — name, preferred name, email address, phone number, profile photo, and password (stored only as a cryptographic hash).
  • Verification data — a one-time code confirms your phone number; professionals may complete an identity check before earning on TASX.
  • Task and ride details — what you book, addresses you provide, photos you attach to describe a job, messages between you and your matched professional, ratings and reviews.
  • Location — when you allow it, your device location is used to show nearby professionals, estimate arrivals, and track a ride in progress. You can decline; typing an address works too.
  • Payment information — handled by our payment processor; TASX never stores full card numbers.
  • Technical basics — device type, app version and diagnostic logs that help us fix problems.

How we use it

  • To match you with professionals (or customers) and run the booking from request to completion.
  • To send the messages the service needs: verification codes, booking updates, receipts, safety notices.
  • To keep the marketplace safe — preventing fraud, enforcing our terms, and moderating abusive content.
  • To improve TASX using aggregated, de-identified usage patterns.
What we don't do: we don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers. Marketing messages are opt-in and every one has an unsubscribe.

Who sees your information

  • Your match — a professional sees the details needed to do the job (first name, task details, address, photos). A customer sees the professional's profile, ratings and live location during a job. Phone numbers are not shown publicly.
  • Service providers — we use trusted processors to run TASX: Supabase (database & authentication), Google Maps (maps & routing), Twilio (text-message verification), Resend (email), and our payment processor. Each receives only what its function requires.
  • Legal — we disclose information if required by Canadian law or to protect the safety of our users.

Sign in with Google

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account — nothing else. We use them only to create and sign you into your TASX account. TASX's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Retention

We keep your information while your account is active. Completed task records are retained as required for tax and dispute purposes, then deleted or de-identified. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal information at any time.

Your choices

  • View and edit your profile information in the app at any time.
  • Turn location access off in your device settings.
  • Opt out of promotional messages in Account → Notifications.
  • Request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing us.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access inside TASX is restricted by row-level security, and verification codes expire in minutes. No system is perfect; if a breach ever affects you, we will notify you as PIPEDA requires.

Children

TASX is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
